Project Labor Agreements
Johnson has more than 30 years of extensive experience in forging alliances among the private sector, the public sector, community based organizations and organized labor on issues of local hiring. His accomplishments include directing the first organization in the U.S. to provide on the job construction training for minorities and women. He has implemented and facilitated labor relations activities throughout Northern California. He has served as a member of a collective bargaining team and a vocational expert for disability appeals hearings. He has received training in Labor Arbitration and Mediation, Collective Bargaining in a Recessionary Environment, Contract Interpretation-Employment Law and Labor Arbitration Discipline. Mr. Johnson is the program manager for the Port of Oakland's Maritime and Aviation Project Labor Agreement (MAPLA).
Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
